The reservoir stretches for 9.5 km showing its picturesque beauty and already houses several boating activities like kayaking, jet skiing, and pontoon boating. Under the new policy, the project involves boat jetties besides selfie points along the reservoir. Besides, ramps would be erected making it easy for tourists to access the jetties. At present, there are five boating companies, which operate at Baur Reservoir offering boating facilities to visitors, including three local operators and two others from Tehri and Dehradun.
District Tourism Officer Lata Bisht said, "The jetties are now designed in such a way that boating companies will have a better parking plan, and tourists will be allowed easy boarding with the ramps. Our motto is to make the visitor experience better and manage the increasing inflow of tourists.

Five boating companies at Baur Reservoir are presently working three from local business entities and two from Tehri and Dehradun. The cost for the new jetties along with the parking facilities comes out to be around Rs 20 lakh. This development is also likely to make the operation processes more efficient and simultaneously helps in attracting more businesses into the network. These projects are assigned to the irrigation department for execution.
The leaseholder has constructed helipad with work in progress besides the leased resort near the reservoir. It is intended to attract the celebrities. "We have reserved land for the helipad, and our technical team has cleared it. We have forwarded the proposal to the tourism secretary for final nod," Bisht said.
