Gobind Sagar Lake Launches Parasailing Activity to Boost Tourism in Himachal

The Deputy Commissioner, Aabid Hussain Sadiq informed that all the official clearances have been obtained by the project. A leading Delhi-based company, currently operating in Tehri, Uttarakhand, has been invited to conduct trial operations for this thrilling venture, officials confirmed recently. The specialized parasailing boats will come to the lake in the first week of December, and the trials will run for two months. Technical committee consisting of experts of the industry will keep a close eye on the testing works for the safety and operational efficiency. After the trial, it will be assessed by the District Regulation Committee on the viability and success of the event. Once passed, it will be implemented in existing attractions of the lake in a structured operational framework.

Gobind Sagar Lake already attracts tourists to its cruise and shikara rides. The addition of parasailing is expected to take the lake to new heights as a prime destination for water-based adventure tourism in Himachal Pradesh.
"Parasailing will not only provide an adventurous experience to the adventure lovers but also offer considerable employment opportunities to local people, which will boost the regional economy," said DC Sadiq. He also added that water sports activities would be further developed to make Bilaspur a prime destination for water tourism in North India.
