Kashmir transforms into a snow paradise with fresh snowfall in Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg

Kashmir experienced its first snowfall of the season on Saturday, which blanketed places like Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg in pristine white. This brought a festive look to the valleys while also stretching the snow up to the higher reaches. This change came with a western disturbance, covering the peaceful mountains and valleys with snow, beautifying the tourist destinations in the region.

Pahalgam, one of the most beautiful towns in Kashmir, was the first to experience the season's snowfall. Famous for its lush meadows, breathtaking vistas, and its role in the famous Amarnath Yatra route, Pahalgam turned into a winter wonderland as snow gracefully blanketed its landscape.
This snowfall has ushered in the winter season and is the precursor to the visit of adventure sport enthusiasts, especially skiers, snow trekkers, and snowboarders

The first snowfall of the season also touched the popular ski resort town of Gulmarg. With its world-class snow-covered slopes, Gulmarg is a dream destination for adventure seekers and winter sports lovers.
The Gondola lift, a very iconic cable car that towers over the world's other such cable cars, is giving tourists a view of breathtaking snow-covered mountains all across the globe.

Sonamarg, also known for its golden meadows, had transformed into a spectacular winter destination as fresh snow adorned the towering peaks of this region. Other parts of the state, like Gurez and Zojila Pass, witnessed snowfall, which further caused the Srinagar-Leh highway to be temporarily closed because of heavy snow accumulation.

Guidelines for Visitors

The authorities have warned the tourists and locals to be careful while traveling to higher altitudes. The snowfall may cause road blockages and slippery conditions, so the visitors should plan their trips accordingly.
