Foreign Tourism in Uttarakhand Increases by 89 Percent in 2023 | Most Popular Destinations in Devbhoomi

Uttarakhand Tourist Boom: There is a huge jump in the arrival of foreign tourists in Uttarakhand Tourism. In the last three years, the number of foreign tourists has increased by 89 %. The number of foreign tourists coming in 2023 is 1.48 lakh. The highest influx of foreign tourists is being seen in three cities of Uttarakhand.

Apart from the historical places of the country (Khajuraho, Rajasthan, Gwalior, Orchha, Banaras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Ujjain etc.), now the valleys of Devbhoomi are also luring foreign tourists. In three years, the number of foreign tourists coming to Devbhoomi has increased by 89 percent

The number of foreign tourists coming in the year 2023 is 1.48 lakh. The highest influx of foreign tourists has been in Tehri, Dehradun and Kotdwar. In fact, till now the maximum crowd of foreign tourists in India was seen in historical tourist places. But now the peaceful and picturesque atmosphere of Devbhoomi has also started calling them.

Especially due to the massive development in various fields of tourism (eco-tourism, aero-tourism, astro-tourism), foreign tourists have also started arriving to seek solace in the peaceful hills of Devbhoomi. Compared to previous years, there has been a huge jump in the number of foreign tourists visiting Devbhoomi.

47,177 tourists reached Tehri Uttarakhand

Tehri, situated at an altitude of two thousand meters above sea level, is a district located in the Garhwal hilly area. The natural beauty and religious places here attract tourists. Recently, development work worth Rs 1,293 crore is being done here by the Tourism Department.

Water sports are organized every year in Tehri Lake, where a large number of foreign tourists reach. Many places in Tehri, including Chamba, Budha Kedar, Kempty Falls, Dev Prayag and Tehri Dam, attract tourists. 2,300 foreign tourists arrived in Tehri in the year 2021, 22,709 in 2022 and 47,177 in 2023.

The number of Foreign Tourists in Dehradun district increased by 90 %

Rishikesh and Mussoorie are the first choice of tourists in Dehradun district. Apart from this, a huge crowd of tourists is also seen in the Buddha temple present in Dehradun city. The cold and calm atmosphere of Tapovan in Rishikesh also attracts tourists.
Recently, the Tourism Department did a lot of development work regarding yoga tourism in Rishikesh. Where tourists can reach and meditate and do yoga. At the same time, all the activities of adventure tourism are also thrilling the tourists.
Apart from this, the valleys of Mussoorie, situated at an altitude of 2005 meters above sea level, also make the tourists feel joy and adventure. The number of foreign tourists coming to Mussoorie has increased tremendously as compared to earlier. Dehradun district received 3,531 tourists in 2021, 16,539 in 2022 and 32,305 in 2023.

Kotdwar became the Third choice of Foreign Tourists

Kotdwar is a town located on the banks of the Khoh river in Pauri Garhwal district. Which has many historical sites. Here is a Siddhapeeth Kanvashram of Rishi Kanva. Where tourists turn in search of divine peace and solitude. Kotdwar is located at an altitude of 454 meters above sea level.
Apart from this, Buddha Park, St. Joseph Church and Charek Danda are also centers of attraction. Lansdowne, located at a distance of 40 km from Kotdwar, is also a beautiful town surrounded by hills. Along with the army cantonment, there are many excellent tourist places including St. Mary's Church, Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple, Travel Cafe, Tin-in-Top View Point and Bhalugarh Waterfall. 638 tourists reached Kotdwar in the year 2021, 4,445 in 2022 and 21,817 in 2023.
