Agra Gwalior Expressway Six-Lane Highway Latest Status and Route Info

The Agra-Gwalior Expressway is an 87 km long, six-lane access-controlled greenfield highway that has been identified as one of India's biggest infrastructure ventures ever. This expressway will link two vital cities in Uttar Pradesh. Agra and Gwalior is expected to significantly improve regional transport by offering a faster route between the cities.

The driving impact that this highway will generate will be on economic development with the reduction of travel times and improvement in connectivity between two cities.

The expressway will also be a wide ranging game changer in terms of transportation in northern India. It will act as an added morale booster to tourism in the region and also bring much-needed relief to already choked Gwalior-Morena-Dholpur-Agra road. Currently, 360 km of distance that separates Delhi from Gwalior takes 6 to 7 hours on the Agra-Delhi Highway and Yamuna Expressway. Agra-Gwalior Expressway Route Map :

The 87 km long Agra-Gwalior Expressway will be initiated from Nirawali Tiraha at Gwalior and extended to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway at Agra. The starting point will be at Deri village near the Inner Ring Road, while the expressway will end at Susera village close to the Gwalior bypass. Once it is completed, the travel time between Delhi and Gwalior will come down to four hours; the other corridor goes by the Yamuna Expressway and Agra-Delhi highway, taking 6-7 hours.

The expressway will further connect NH-27 at Seemalya village in Kota district of Rajasthan with the Nanawa village in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. The eastern end of this expressway starts from Agra-Lucknow Expressway, near Etawah, running parallel to the Chambal River, passing through Bhind, Morena, Gwalior, and Shivpuri. At the western end, near Kota, an interchange is proposed to be constructed that connects to the under-construction Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

The National Highways Authority of India will implement this mega-infrastructure project, estimated to be around Rs 2,500 crores. All the modern amenities like gas stations, electric charging stations, huge food malls, and other attractive landscapes will be there to provide a premium travel experience to the commuters on the expressway.
