Noida International Airport Completes Validation Flight: A Step Closer to Commercial Operations

Validation flight was done with an IndiGo A320 passenger aircraft in the presence of Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu. The flight validated the operational readiness of the airport including the functionality of its navigational aids, air traffic control systems, and approach procedures.
The validation flight used an Airbus A-320 to test Required Navigation Performance (RNP) procedures and ILS approach procedures. RNP guarantees flight paths with high accuracy. The systems are necessary in ensuring smooth and efficient running of the airport.
In this regard, NIA confirms that the accuracy is in place as seen through these systems, thus confirming how the airport is keen to the highest safety and operation standards set for commercial use.

NIA said, "Post validation flight, we will put in all the documentation to the DGCA to get an aerodrome certification." This is bringing the airport one step closer to a license and opening the airport to operation. As readiness preparation measures, the NIA conducted calibration exercises on its ILS and PAPI systems in the airport during October 2024.
Speaking on commitment towards excellence by NIA's CEO, "This is a milestone that speaks to the commitment and planning done to make sure the airport is ready for commercial operations. We are gearing up for the opening of the airport and look forward to welcoming passengers, said Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport.
At the time of the event, Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu stated, This is a big step for Noida International Airport. It will connect Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh. We have decided to finish this work by April 2025. So far, over 50 million man-hours have been consumed without any untoward incident.

The Noida International Airport is set to become one of the most important aviation hubs in the region, serving millions of passengers every year and augmenting connectivity in the area. With the validation flight successfully completed, the airport takes a significant leap towards its anticipated commercial opening in April 2025.
