But Kush remained firm and kept demanding his bangle again and again. The dispute between Nagraj and Kush escalated to such an extent that it led to war. Kush got angry and decided to eliminate the serpents from the entire earth. Then the serpent Kumud appealed to Lord Shiva for his protection and Lord Shiva appeared there. He pacified Kush and asked him to marry Kumud's daughter. After this incident, Kush established the Nageshwar Nath temple at the place where Lord Shiva had appeared.
